Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zachery Klein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kazama drives through and clinches with Klein against the cage.
Kazama is trying to break the clinch but Klein has him pressed against the cage. Kazama gets control of Klein's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kazama will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kazama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Klein is one step ahead there. Klein is working Kazama over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Klein throws a big elbow that misses. Kazama trying to control the position.
Klein might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kazama throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kazama wants to sweep here but Klein controlling him for the moment. Klein trying to control the position from guard on top but Kazama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klein stopping the sweep attempt from Kazama. Kazama trying to keep a closed guard but Klein is proving a slippery customer.
Kazama is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kazama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Klein is one step ahead there. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kazama working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Klein.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kazama lands a two punch combo.
Kazama throws a head kick that misses and Klein counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Klein.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klein pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kazama misses with a jab to the body
and Klein counters with a nice uppercut. Klein looks for the body kick but Kazama saw that one coming. Kazama has Klein up against the cage in a clinch.
Klein slowing the pace effectively. Kazama wants to break the clinch but can't.
Klein's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazama shoots in and bounces Klein off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kazama stands up and waves to Klein to follow him. A momentary lapse in concentration from Klein enables Kazama to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Klein manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Klein wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kazama manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kazama is looking to take a break and control but Klein is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Klein is trying to maintain the position but Kazama is very close to passing his half guard. Klein wants to improve his position but Kazama is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Klein avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kazama. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jin Kazama dominated that round. That's time! Klein's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kazama drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Kazama throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Klein works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kazama slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kazama stands up and waves to Klein to follow him. Klein clinches with his opponent.

Klein striking from half guard on the bottom. Kazama is keen to just control but Klein is a slippery customer. Klein is looking to escape. Klein is not content to let Kazama control the position. Klein tries to roll over but Kazama keeps him under control. Klein is working hard here to advance position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kazama throwing shots but Klein is blocking nicely.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kazama closes the distance and clinches. Kazama misses with a knee to the head. Kazama pulls guard effortlessly. Klein loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Klein controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Klein has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Klein works over Kazama with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kazama is breathing heavily. Klein keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kazama's head. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Klein's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Klein is in close to Kazama's body, working some short punches and elbows. Klein trying to control but Kazama is working from the bottom. Klein lands a couple of decent looking shots. Kazama has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Klein throwing strikes but missing. Jin Kazama has got the better of the ground game so far. Klein postures up and lands a big shot to Kazama's brow. Kazama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kazama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Klein is one step ahead there. Klein wants to control from the top but Kazama keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Klein postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jin Kazama will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The fight moves into the clinch position. Kazama manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kazama looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Klein puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Kazama is trying to stand back up but Klein is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klein wants to work for an arm triangle but Kazama is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kazama is staying active underneath Klein, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Klein connects with a nice short shot to Kazama's temple. Kazama is trying to stand back up but Klein is controlling him

Klein looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kazama with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kazama missing with punches from the bottom.

Klein is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kazama tries to roll over but Klein keeps him under control. Kazama takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klein drops an elbow to the side of Kazama's head. Klein not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Klein missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kazama drives through with a takedown into Klein's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Klein has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kazama has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Kazama throws a punch but it's blocked by Klein. Kazama drags the fight down to the ground.
