Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arturo Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kimbo Slice!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward misses with a jab, cross combination.
Slice looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ward is looking to clinch but Slice is avoiding it.
Slice is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ward shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slice as he jumps to the side.
Ward darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ward throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ward seems to be looking for submissions.
Ward is working for a submission of some sort.
Slice keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ward is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Slice has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ward wants to work for an arm triangle but Slice is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ward in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Slice tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ward!
