Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Reginald Cavendish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernst Singer! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavendish misses with a few strikes there.
Horrible takedown by Singer or perhaps it was just good defense by Cavendish which made him look bad. Singer fails with the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Cavendish. No joy for Singer on that attempt. Reginald Cavendish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernst Singer. Cavendish rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Singer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Singer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cavendish as he avoids it easily. Singer fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Singer fails to land the takedown. Singer fails with the takedown. Cavendish lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Ernst Singer has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Cavendish throws a nice looking combination but Singer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Singer fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cavendish thuds his right hand into Singer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Singer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Singer looks gassed! Cavendish tests Singer's chin there with a solid looking shot. Singer avoids the body shot from Cavendish.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Singer, right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cavendish fails to land with a series of punches.
A chopping leg kick lands by Cavendish. Cavendish fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Cavendish displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That has opened up Ernst Singer's cut even more. A jab-cross combination lands for Cavendish and sends Singer crashing to the mat! Cavendish follows him down to the mat - Singer regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
The cut above Ernst Singer's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Cavendish decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cavendish lands an overhand right.
Ernst Singer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Cavendish connects with a body shot. Cavendish keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ernst Singer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Reginald Cavendish!
