Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Darrel (ranked 7395 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ganesha Om (ranked 6237 p4p, 0 weight class). Ganesha Om has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jonathan Darrel's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darrel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Darrel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Om.
Om is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Darrel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Darrel tries to bum rush Om with a series of wild strikes but Om uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A combination from Darrel does no damage.

and Om decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Darrel's guard.

Om is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Darrel is just riding it out for now. Om eventually gives up the hold.

Darrel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Om on the ground.

Om tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Om has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Om is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Darrel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Om has hold of Darrel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Darrel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Om goes for an armbar but Darrel turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Darrel.
Om bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Darrel's guard.

Om remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Om is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Darrel rolls with it to try and escape but Om cranks on the arm and Darrel is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
