Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bull Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Gardner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, bull Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gardner rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gardner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gardner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gardner tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
Smith working away.
Gardner takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith stands up and beckons Gardner to his feet.
Gardner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gardner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith working away.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Gardner get back to his feet.

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Smith stands and throws Gardner's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gardner tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Smith tries to control but Gardner wriggling away.
Smith avoids the attempt from Gardner to control.
Gardner is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Smith manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gardner to take his back!
Gardner trying to control the position but Smith manages to sink in the hooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Smith wants to control but Gardner is keeping busy.
Gardner is breathing heavily.

Smith has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Gardner is in real trouble here. Smith gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Gardner is tapping out! Smith wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). bull Smith!
