Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinchenzo Fratello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fratello comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Made You Look kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vinchenzo Fratello! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. A combination from Jones does no damage. Fratello keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fratello as he avoids it easily. Fratello gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick. Jones shoots and misses and Fratello counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fratello is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Fratello holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Fratello drags the fight down to the ground.

Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Fratello is retaining full guard. Fratello throws a nice elbow from the bottom. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fratello has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Fratello looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jones wants to stand but Fratello has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Fratello trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Vinchenzo Fratello dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fratello is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jones to escape.

Jones darts in trying to clinch and Fratello counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fratello content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Fratello keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones clinches but Fratello breaks the clinch and Fratello counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones trying to control but Fratello postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones throws a body kick that misses. Fratello gets the takedown into side control. Fratello in side control lands a decent elbow. Sloppy strikes there by Fratello. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jones prevents Fratello from moving into mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vinchenzo Fratello showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Let's see if Fratello can do anything to dispel that myth. Fratello throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
