Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wolfgang Schneeweiss (ranked 2978 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Lewis (ranked 2966 p4p, 0 weight class). Wolfgang Schneeweiss looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Wolfgang Schneeweiss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Lewis! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneeweiss misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Schneeweiss looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Lewis darts in and clinches Schneeweiss up against the cage. Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Schneeweiss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lewis tries to avoid it but Schneeweiss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lewis to the ground. Lewis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A nice side step and Lewis releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Lewis clinches with his opponent.
Lewis looking for a takedown. Schneeweiss has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lewis after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wolfgang Schneeweiss. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis stalling against the cage.
Lewis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lewis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

A frustrated look appears on Schneeweiss's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lewis moves into the clinch. Lewis is trying to pull guard but Schneeweiss has him pressed against the cage. Schneeweiss is trying to pull guard but Lewis has him pressed against the cage. Lewis jumps guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis controls Schneeweiss momentarily but Schneeweiss frees himself. Schneeweiss is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lewis wants to sweep here but Schneeweiss controlling him for the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lewis scores with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schneeweiss tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Schneeweiss tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch. Schneeweiss prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lewis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Schneeweiss just stands there and leans against the cage. Schneeweiss is trying to break the clinch but Lewis is controlling him. Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lewis. Schneeweiss half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schneeweiss tries for a takedown but Lewis circles away easily and Lewis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Schneeweiss shoots and misses and Lewis counters by clinching up. Lewis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schneeweiss smiles and moves away.

Schneeweiss pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schneeweiss avoids the head kick by Lewis.

Lewis throws a head kick that half lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Desmond Lewis dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lewis dives in for a single leg takedown but Schneeweiss sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Schneeweiss tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lewis manages to circle out of the way. Schneeweiss has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lewis thuds a left hand into Schneeweiss's body. Lewis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schneeweiss pinned against the cage. Schneeweiss gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Schneeweiss tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schneeweiss sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat. Wolfgang Schneeweiss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond Lewis. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lewis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis throws a head kick that misses. Lewis stuffs the takedown attempt from Schneeweiss. Schneeweiss gets slowly back to his feet. Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schneeweiss as he jumps to the side. Schneeweiss changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Schneeweiss moves in looking to clinch but Lewis pushes him off. Lewis throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Schneeweiss. No joy for Lewis on that attempt. Lewis slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Lewis slips a jab and a cross from Schneeweiss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis clinches up against the cage. Lewis lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Schneeweiss jumps guard.
Schneeweiss looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schneeweiss keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully. Schneeweiss tries to strike from the bottom.
Schneeweiss doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Schneeweiss controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schneeweiss being controlled here, momentarily. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Lewis looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice body kick there by Lewis. Lewis moves into the clinch. Lewis tries to pull guard but Schneeweiss holds him up against the cage and eventually Lewis drops back down to his feet.

Lewis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schneeweiss jumps guard but Lewis stands there with Schneeweiss around his waist. Schneeweiss gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Desmond Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lewis keeps control of the position for the meantime. Lewis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Schneeweiss is working away from the top position though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lewis slaps away a takedown attempt from Schneeweiss, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lewis fails with the takedown. Lewis lands a jab-cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schneeweiss but Schneeweiss pushes him off and we're back to square one. Schneeweiss jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Lewis misses with a takedown and Schneeweiss counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Schneeweiss. Schneeweiss is looking to control Lewis's arms but Lewis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Schneeweiss has his back to the cage. Lewis is looking for a takedown. Lewis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Schneeweiss uses from the top position. Schneeweiss wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving. Lewis working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Schneeweiss has passed into half guard!
Wolfgang Schneeweiss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Desmond Lewis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schneeweiss drops an elbow to the side of Lewis's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Desmond Lewis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lewis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
