Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seiryu Machida (ranked 1783 p4p, 222 weight class) and Leon Opstad (ranked 4099 p4p, 400 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Opstad's choice of entrance music: Moby - Natural Blues. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seiryu Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leon Opstad!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Opstad takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Opstad takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A head kick by Opstad misses
letting Machida counter with a right hand.
Opstad misses with a lunging right hand
and Machida counters with an outside leg kick.
Machida lands a big head kick that sends Opstad tumbling to the mat! Machida takes a step backwards and waves Opstad back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Opstad is rocked!
It looks like Leon Opstad has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Machida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Opstad sprawling to the canvas! Opstad rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Machida finish him?!
Opstad is still on wobbly legs! Can Machida finish him?
Opstad doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
We've been told by Machida's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Machida drives through and clinches with Opstad against the cage.

Opstad looking for a takedown.
Opstad is trying to drag Machida to the mat but Machida just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Seiryu Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leon Opstad.
Machida lands a damaging elbow.
Opstad looks winded!
Clinched against the cage, Machida lands a big elbow that drops Opstad! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Opstad is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seiryu Machida!
