Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Dawson (ranked 3011 p4p, 311 weight class) and Elijah David (ranked 4091 p4p, 406 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Elijah David was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roger Dawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elijah David! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David doesn't manage to clinch there - Dawson circles away.
Dawson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Dawson tries to close the distance and clinch up but David swats him away and circles back towards the center. David throws a series of punches but Dawson avoids them all with ease. Dawson misses with a body shot.
Dawson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
David connects with a body shot that sends Dawson's belly button to the back. David blocks a low kick nicely. A slow jab from David misses its intended target. David misses with a double jab
and Dawson counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David ducks under a wild hook from Dawson. Jab by Dawson. David is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dawson's half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. David throws a combination that misses and Dawson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Dawson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from David. David thuds a left hand into Dawson's body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elijah David dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

David shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dawson's guard. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Dawson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dawson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dawson keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. David trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dawson looks to land a body kick but David moved away. David throws a body shot but no joy. Dawson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. David throws a head kick but Dawson moves out of range.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. David doesn't manage to clinch there - Dawson circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for David with that takedown attempt. Dawson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. David with a poor takedown and Dawson counters with a nice uppercut. David has been the more effective fighter overall so far. David throws a push kick but Dawson slaps the foot to one side. David lands with a good body shot. David swings widly with a right hand
letting Dawson counter with a right hand. David swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dawson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. David clinches with his opponent.
David tries to work over Dawson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dawson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. David pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes. Dawson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from David.
Roger Dawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elijah David. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dawson avoids the elbow strike from David, against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elijah David showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

enabling Dawson to counter with a crisp jab. David tries to clinch but Dawson moves out of range. Dawson is looking to counter with a shot to the body. David lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dawson circles away quickly and effectively. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Dawson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. David shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dawson sprawls well. Dawson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. David gets slowly back to his feet. A little feinted left hand from Dawson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Dawson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dawson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Dawson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. David cracks a nice hook into Dawson's ribs. Elijah David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dawson darts in looking for a takedown but David gets double underhooks and turns Dawson into the ropes. David throws a leg kick but Dawson sees it coming and moves out of range. A little feinted left hand from Dawson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. David lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dawson's sensitive parts. Dawson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Dawson slips under a jab. Dawson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. A head kick misses from David.
That's two minutes gone in the round. David lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by David. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. David takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
David looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dawson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. David misses with a leg kick letting Dawson counter with a right hand. Dawson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by David.
David shoots in for a double leg but Dawson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Elijah David seems to be getting the better of the standup. David cracks Dawson with a right hand to the side of the head. Dawson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and David connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dawson scrambles back to his feet. David tries a head kick but it misses.
Dawson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. David punishes Dawson's body with a nice straight punch. David rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Dawson counter with a right hand.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Elijah David. Well David has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
