Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quetzal Montezuma (ranked 60 p4p, 11 weight class) and Vandall Savage (ranked 230 p4p, 29 weight class). Montezuma comes to the cage accompanied by The Mayan Predator. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Quetzal Montezuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vandall Savage!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montezuma throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Savage counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Montezuma waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Savage.
Montezuma misses with a looping left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Savage! But no joy.
Savage misses with a double jab
and Montezuma counters with a good, hard body kick but Savage shrugs it off.
Savage on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Vandall Savage has been cut.
Savage swings away with a body shot that misses
and Montezuma counters with a nice low kick that buckles Savage's knee momentarily.
A jab from Montezuma misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montezuma lands a body shot.
Montezuma thows a left - swing and a miss!
Savage tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Montezuma misses with an uppercut. Savage saw that one coming.
Montezuma walks into a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Savage fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Montezuma manages to avoid it.
Montezuma blocks a jab.
Montezuma jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Montezuma lands a nice looking kick to the body. Savage takes a step back to recover.
Good exchange - Montezuma coming out on top.
Savage swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Montezuma's jab looks to have found its range, popping Savage under the eye.
Savage avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Savage tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Savage ducks under a wild hook from Montezuma.
A countering left hand to the body from Savage misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Montezuma throws a shot to the body.
Montezuma tests Savage's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Montezuma lands a nice hook to Savage's body. Savage takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Savage takes a swing at Montezuma's ribcage but misses.
Savage throws out a loose jab but Montezuma uses good head movement to avoid it.
Montezuma misses with an uppercut
enabling Savage to counter with a crisp jab.
Montezuma swings for the body but Savage moves out of range.
Montezuma looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Savage throws a predictable looking body shot
and Montezuma counters with a nice leg kick.
A cross from Savage lands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Savage falls off balance throwing a combination
and Montezuma counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Montezuma chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A slow jab from Savage misses its intended target.
Montezuma connects with an inside leg kick.
Savage moves out of range as Montezuma strikes.
Savage with the counter takedown but Montezuma avoids it easily.
Savage stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Montezuma.
Savage's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Savage connects with a body shot.
A nice combination there by Savage.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Savage, as that shot connected.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Montezuma connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


That has opened up Vandall Savage's cut even more.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Savage tests Montezuma's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Quetzal Montezuma is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Savage misses the shot to the body.
Savage has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Montezuma displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Savage throws out the jab.
Montezuma thinks about countering with a body kick.
Savage throws a sloppy body shot
and Montezuma cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Montezuma tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Savage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Savage looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Savage misses the shot to the body.
Savage connects with a body shot that sends Montezuma's belly button to the back.
Savage sizes up Montezuma with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Savage dips to his left and cracks Montezuma with an uppercut!
Savage misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little feinted left hand from Montezuma on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quetzal Montezuma dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vandall Savage's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Montezuma bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Savage ducks under a wild hook from Montezuma.
Savage takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Savage might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Montezuma has got the better of the exchanges.
Savage pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Savage misses the shot to the body.
Montezuma needs to keep his hands up - Savage had a free shot at his head there.
Montezuma misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montezuma tries to clinch there but Savage circles away.
Savage keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Montezuma moves to clinch but Savage breaks away
and Savage counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Montezuma takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A jab lands there for Savage.
A left lands for Montezuma.
Savage throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Montezuma doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Savage keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Savage throws a monster overhand right that drops Montezuma! Savage follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vandall Savage!
Vandall Savage opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
