Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Norman Mccoy (ranked 7349 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kazama (ranked 3189 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Mccoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mccoy throws a head kick that misses and Kazama counters with a lovely shot to the body. Kazama lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kazama avoids the body shot from Mccoy.
Kazama tries to counter by closing the distance. Kazama fails to land with a series of punches.
Kazama misses with the combination.
Mccoy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kazama manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mccoy swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Mccoy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kazama manages to avoid it. Mccoy moves into the clinch. Kazama has Mccoy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mccoy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kazama is trying to push Mccoy away but Mccoy has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Mccoy has Kazama pressed against the cage, preventing Kazama from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kazama drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mccoy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kazama fails with the takedown. Norman Mccoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Kazama. Kazama looks winded!

Kazama is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mccoy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kazama napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kazama throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kazama is defended easily by Mccoy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mccoy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kazama tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccoy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mccoy blocks a head kick by Kazama.

Mccoy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kazama uses from the top position. Mccoy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mccoy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mccoy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kazama escapes and throws Mccoy's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mccoy regains half guard. Mccoy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mccoy is working hard here to advance position. Kazama throws a strike but Mccoy avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Mccoy has an active guard here but Kazama has managed to pass into half guard.
Kazama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mccoy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Norman Mccoy will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kazama scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kazama. Kazama avoids the body shot from Mccoy.

and Kazama connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mccoy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mccoy is defending well against a takedown attempt. Kazama is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mccoy is keeping busy. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mccoy takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mccoy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kazama can't fight it off and eventually Mccoy manages to take the fight to the floor. Kazama looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kazama keeping moving, preventing Mccoy from controlling successfully. Kazama working for a triangle but Mccoy defends it easily.

Kazama is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mccoy can't fight it off and eventually Kazama manages to take the fight to the floor. Mccoy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kazama postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Norman Mccoy dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Mccoy lands with a nice combination. Kazama backs away looking to recover. Mccoy slaps away a takedown attempt from Kazama, before circling back to the center of the mat. As Kazama tries to get set, Mccoy tries to push him back and clinch up but Kazama manages to avoid the attempt. Mccoy swats away the attempt to clinch by Kazama. Mccoy throws a quick counter head kick but Kazama was just out of range. Kazama takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mccoy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mccoy is looking to wear down Kazama with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Kazama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mccoy as he jumps to the side.

Mccoy waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kazama. Mccoy throws a right hand that Kazama ducks under and follows up with a left that Kazama also avoids with ease. Kazama slaps away a takedown attempt from Mccoy, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kazama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mccoy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mccoy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kazama manages to avoid it. Mccoy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mccoy sets himself, and Kazama steps forward looking for the clinch! Mccoy avoids it this time.

Mccoy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mccoy shoots in and gets a takedown into Kazama's guard. Kazama manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Mccoy is trying to drag Kazama to the mat but Kazama just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Kazama pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kazama blocks a head kick by Mccoy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kazama lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mccoy circles away quickly and effectively. Mccoy throws a sloppy body shot
and Kazama counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kazama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mccoy swivels and escapes. Norman Mccoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Kazama. Kazama uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mccoy.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mccoy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kazama moves away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mccoy throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jin Kazama has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Norman Mccoy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mccoy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kazama can do to turn this around? Mccoy throws a wild body kick that Kazama sees coming a mile off.
And that's the end of the fight! Norman Mccoy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mccoy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
