Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Mason (ranked 1317 p4p, 169 weight class) and Christian Volland (ranked 4055 p4p, 395 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 2, fighting out of New York, Dean Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Volland!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volland buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Volland fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Volland lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mason has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mason and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mason throwing a counter right hand but Volland manages to avoid it.
Volland with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Mason lands a left and a right that send Volland crashing to the mat, dazed. Mason thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Christian Volland has been cut.
Volland scoring well with a low kick there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mason stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Volland is rocked!
Volland gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Mason gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Volland is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
