Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chakrii Weecharangsan (ranked 1361 p4p, 154 weight class) and Xavier Merlin (ranked 1879 p4p, 213 weight class). Weecharangsan comes into the arena with Sarama blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weecharangsan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Merlin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Merlin drives through and clinches with Weecharangsan against the cage.
Merlin misses with some punches.
Merlin tries a body shot but Weecharangsan blocks it.
Merlin manages to pull guard.
Merlin looking for a guillotine here but Weecharangsan defends easily.
Weecharangsan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weecharangsan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Weecharangsan wants to get up but he can't break Merlin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Merlin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weecharangsan is one step ahead there.

Weecharangsan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Merlin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Weecharangsan is defending well. Merlin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Weecharangsan has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Merlin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
