Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Tua (ranked 558 p4p, 14 weight class) and Big Dog (ranked 582 p4p, 25 weight class). Dog has chosen The 2 Bears - Bear Hug as his entrance music. Big Dog will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Tua !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Dog!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog throws a jab but it's blocked by Tua .

Dog clinches up with Tua and pushes him back against the cage.
Tua is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Tua throws a punch but it's blocked by Dog.
Dog's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Still in the clinch, Tua scores with a nice short uppercut.
Dog throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Tua tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dog working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Dog pushes off an throws an elbow but Tua leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Tua throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Tua looks to score with a jab to the body but Dog is just out of range.
Dog throws out a counter right but Tua avoids it with no problem.

Tua darts in and clinches Dog up against the cage.

Dog unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Tua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dog takes a swing at Tua 's ribcage but misses.
Dog connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Tua misses with a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tua fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dog pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dog has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Tua fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Tua avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dog misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dog's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dog duly obliges.

Tua is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dog swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dog scores with a nice head shot.
Dog cracks Tua with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Tua tries to clinch up but Dog circles away and keeps his distance.
Dog takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tua throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dog tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tua was well out of range. Poor timing from Dog.

Tua connects with a high kick.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tua pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tua takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Dog lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Dog cracks Tua with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Tua looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Dog finish him?

It looks like David Tua has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tua misses with an uppercut. Dog saw that one coming.
Oh Tua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dog shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tua seems to have got his legs back now.

Dog chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Tua slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tua wants to clinch.

Dog lands a big head kick that sends Tua tumbling to the mat! Dog takes a step backwards and waves Tua back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Tua bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dog's head.
Dog throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tua looks for the body kick but Dog saw that one coming.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dog has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Tua lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dog's sensitive parts.

and Tua counters with a good, hard body kick but Dog shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dog lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Dog in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

David Tua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tua on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Tua lands a big right hand that sends Dog crashing to the mat! Tua stays standing though and waves Dog back to his feet!


Dog is rocked!
Dog wants to stay close but Tua steps back to make room for something. Dog seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Tua and Dog drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). David Tua !
A very excited looking David Tua made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Big Dog was interviewed post fight and said 'My manager sucks! He doesn't know how to set sliders!'.
