Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus McDougall (ranked 4002 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolfgang Schneeweiss (ranked 3452 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus McDougall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Wolfgang Schneeweiss!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schneeweiss throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McDougall was covering up waiting for the punch and Schneeweiss finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McDougall trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
McDougall throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Schneeweiss content to stall in guard here.
McDougall has momentary wrist control but Schneeweiss slips an elbow through the middle.
Schneeweiss looks winded!
Schneeweiss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McDougall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Schneeweiss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schneeweiss wanted to stand there but McDougall had control of the position.
McDougall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Schneeweiss engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
McDougall thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDougall fails with a takedown attempt.
McDougall wants to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Schneeweiss.
McDougall misses with a head kick.

McDougall tries to sprawl but Schneeweiss drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Schneeweiss tries to stand and escape but McDougall is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDougall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Schneeweiss's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Schneeweiss's back!
Schneeweiss tries to break free.
Schneeweiss wants to control his opponent's hands but McDougall gets his hands free.
Schneeweiss is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
McDougall is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. McDougall gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. McDougall gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. McDougall apologises and we restart here on the feet.
We've been told by McDougall's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
McDougall with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McDougall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDougall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schneeweiss's waist but Schneeweiss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McDougall off to one side.

Schneeweiss looking to score a takedown here. McDougall is defending well but Schneeweiss drives through and ends up in McDougall's guard.
Schneeweiss trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Schneeweiss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McDougall trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
McDougall trying to strike off his back.
McDougall will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDougall throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

McDougall pushes a forearm under Schneeweiss's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Schneeweiss is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Maximus McDougall!
