Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Holloway (ranked 5021 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Samson (ranked 5037 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Holloway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph Samson! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of Holloway 's head but he takes it in his stride. Some wild striking there from Samson.
Holloway jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Samson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Nice uppercut there from Samson. Holloway showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Samson.
Samson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ralph Samson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Holloway doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Samson scores with a jab to the body. A punch combination from Samson misses. Samson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Holloway changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Samson tries to avoid it but Holloway manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Samson to the ground. Samson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Holloway walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Samson with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holloway throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Samson was covering up waiting for the punch and Holloway finishes the takedown easily into guard. Holloway prevents Samson from getting back to his feet. Holloway pushes down on Samson's leg and manages to get into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samson tries to kick Holloway off but Holloway keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Holloway working over Samson with some ground and pound. Samson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Samson is looking to escape. Holloway decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Holloway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holloway on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Holloway is defended easily by Samson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Holloway. That's going to take a lot out of him. Holloway with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Samson to score with a decent uppercut. Samson lands a nice shot that snaps Holloway's head back.
Holloway dives in for a single leg takedown but Samson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Holloway shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Samson defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holloway ducks right into an uppercut from Samson. Samson throws a series of punches but Holloway avoids them all with ease. Horrible takedown attempt by Holloway or perhaps it was just good defense by Samson, which made it look bad. Holloway throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Samson's waist but Samson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Holloway off to one side. Nice uppercut lands for Samson. That snapped Holloway's head back.
Samson scores with a jab to the body. Good shot there by Samson. Ralph Samson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Samson looks winded! Holloway tries to score a power double leg takedown but Samson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Holloway somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holloway fails with a takedown attempt. Samson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Samson lands with a cross. Samson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Samson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Holloway momentarily.
Samson throws a series of punches but Holloway avoids them all with ease. Holloway shoots in looking for a takedown but Samson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holloway's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice cross by Samson. Samson wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralph Samson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Holloway closes the distance and clinches up with Samson, looking for a takedown. Holloway pushes Samson against the cage but Samson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice takedown defense from Samson. No joy for Holloway on that attempt. Samson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Samson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Holloway takes a shot right to the bread basket. Samson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Holloway scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Samson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Samson is trying to stand back up. Holloway is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Samson with him. Samson is trying to defend but Holloway has an arm under the chin now! Samson grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack Holloway!
