Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bett Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Jones fails to land the takedown. Jones avoids the body shot from Rogers.
Rogers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Bett Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Jones. Rogers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones throws a right and a left that Rogers avoids nicely. Rogers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Rogers. Jones fails to pull guard.

It looks like Richard Jones has been cut. Rogers throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rogers lands a damaging elbow. Jones gets dropped by a huge elbow on the inside by Rogers! He drops to his knees and Rogers takes his back! This one might not last much longer! Rogers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones trying to control the position but Rogers manages to sink in the hooks. Rogers slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones tries to escape but Rogers has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Jones turns into Rogers and is now in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rogers moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to break the clinch but Rogers is controlling the position. Rogers pushes off an throws an elbow but Jones leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rogers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rogers closes the distance and clinches. Rogers lands a nice elbow.
That has opened up Richard Jones's cut even more. Rogers misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jones.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rogers just stands there and leans against the cage. Rogers breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jones fails to land the takedown. Rogers misses with a body shot.
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Rogers misses with a looping left. Rogers wants to slow Jones down by chopping away at his legs. Jones moves out of range of the strikes. Rogers misses with a wild body shot. Rogers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Rogers. Rogers misses with a straight right. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones fails to land the takedown. Rogers looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely. Rogers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Rogers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Rogers tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rogers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bett Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Rogers throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bett Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rogers pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rogers lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Rogers lands an elbow that stopped Jones in his tracks for a moment. Jones blocks an elbow strike from Rogers.
Rogers creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses. Jones wants a takedown but no success here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rogers drops his opponent with a massive elbow! Jones is holding on for dear life.
Jones is rocked! Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though. Rogers with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rogers trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it. Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Rogers working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Jones's thigh. Jones counters though and makes it back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones controls Rogers momentarily but Rogers frees himself. Rogers passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones is trying to get back to half guard.

Bett Rogers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rogers throws a low kick, looking for Jones's leg but Jones calmly moves out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rogers. No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. Rogers thows a left - swing and a miss! Rogers throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side. Rogers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it. Rogers is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Rogers's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Rogers which made him look bad. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rogers misses the shot to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Bett Rogers showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rogers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
