Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dangelo Vargas (ranked 4472 p4p, 182 weight class) and Bartlomiej Jan (ranked 21741 p4p, 234 weight class). Dangelo Vargas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bartlomiej Jan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dangelo Vargas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartlomiej Jan! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas scores with the left hand. Jan knows he should have avoided that one. Jan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Vargas keeping moving, preventing Jan from controlling successfully. Vargas trying to keep a closed guard but Jan is proving a slippery customer.
Jan content to stall in guard here. Jan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vargas trying to control the position.
Vargas seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Vargas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jan throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vargas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vargas is on top in guard.
Jan is looking for a triangle but Vargas pushes his legs off easily.
Jan told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Vargas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jan's guard. Vargas is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Vargas trying to control the position from guard on top but Jan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jan wants to sweep but no luck. Vargas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Vargas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Vargas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jan's guard. Jan tries to get to full guard but Vargas has control of the leg. Vargas trying to advance position but Jan counters by regaining guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jan managing to control the position. Vargas looking to pass the guard. Vargas wants to control from the top but Jan keeps moving. Vargas stopping the sweep attempt from Jan. Vargas trying to control the position from guard on top but Jan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vargas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vargas scores with a jab to the body. Jan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. A close round but Bartlomiej Jan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vargas cracks Jan with a right hand to the side of the head. Vargas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vargas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Vargas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jan shoots in and gets a takedown into Vargas's guard. Vargas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vargas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jan is taking a breather. Vargas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Vargas wants to get back to full guard. Vargas is trying to maintain the position but Jan is very close to passing his half guard. Vargas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jan's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vargas throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Vargas's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Jan breaks Vargas's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Vargas looking for subs off his back but Jan has passed one foot through into half guard.
Vargas wants to control but Jan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vargas wants to get back to full guard. Jan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vargas defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas is holding on to half guard well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jan in particular looking to stall. Vargas tries to roll over but Jan keeps him under control. Vargas moves into full guard.
Jan postures up and lands a big shot to Vargas's brow. Vargas working a defensive guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vargas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jan is one step ahead there. Vargas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jan's guard. Vargas looking to sit in guard and control but Jan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vargas looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bartlomiej Jan will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Jan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vargas's waist but Vargas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jan off to one side. Vargas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Jan ducks straight into an uppercut from Vargas and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Jan manages to regain guard straight away.
Jan is rocked! Jan keeping moving, preventing Vargas from controlling successfully. Jan is still in real trouble! Can Vargas finish him? Bartlomiej Jan has got the better of the ground game so far. Vargas sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jan keeping full guard, as Vargas tries to pass. Jan seems to have recovered his senses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jan is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jan fails with a takedown attempt. Vargas cracks Jan with a big right hand and Jan goes down! Vargas wants to pass the guard but Jan is keeping the position.

Vargas wants to pass the guard but Jan is defending well. Jan is looking for a sweep. Vargas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. This has been an exciting period of action! Jan trying to control but Vargas postures up.
Jan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vargas pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jan is refusing to be controlled, as Vargas sits in half guard. Vargas is trying to work for a kimura but Jan is defending well.
Jan wants to control but Vargas is keeping busy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Vargas working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Jan's thigh. Jan counters though and makes it back to full guard. Vargas postures up.
Bartlomiej Jan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jan walks into a jab. Vargas scores with a body shot.
Vargas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jan. Jan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jan misses with a takedown attempt and Vargas counters with a left to the body. Dangelo Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bartlomiej Jan. Jan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vargas misses the shot to the body. Jan tries for a takedown but Vargas circles away easily and Vargas counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dangelo Vargas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vargas pounces like a tiger and cracks Jan with a vicious hook! Jan is down but not out! Vargas follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
