Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Marques (ranked 3482 p4p, 353 weight class) and Shock Linewood (ranked 3724 p4p, 371 weight class). Marques kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Raining Blood. Billy Marques has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Marques! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Shock Linewood! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marques throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Linewood shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marques scores with a jab to the body. Linewood throws a quick inside leg kick. Marques misses with a wild body shot. Linewood dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Marques. That did some damage! Linewood feints and then cracks Marques's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marques down. Marques fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Linewood drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Linewood pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marques is keeping the position for now. Linewood wants to control from the top but Marques keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Linewood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marques swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marques keeping moving, preventing Linewood from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Linewood drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marques looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marques looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marques!
Marques wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Linewood, who protects the arm well. Marques in side control, just content to control the action for now. Marques has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marques tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Linewood working to try and regain half guard.
Marques is landing with some decent strikes but Linewood is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Marques takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Marques trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marques cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Marques tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marques thowing shots but they're missing. Marques trying to control but Linewood is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Linewood regains half guard. Linewood regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Linewood controls Marques momentarily but Marques frees himself. Marques trying to control the position from guard on top but Linewood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marques controls from within his opponent's guard. Marques wants to pass the guard but Linewood is keeping the position. Marques knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Linewood on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Marques controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Marques dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Linewood closes the distance and clinches. Linewood effectively controlling the action here. Marques throws a punch but it's blocked by Linewood. Linewood prevents a body shot from Marques. Linewood pulls Marques into guard.
Marques has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Linewood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marques doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Linewood is tightening it up a little... Marques has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Marques reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Marques taps out! Nice BJJ there by Linewood!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Shock Linewood! Our winner, Shock Linewood, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. In defeat, Billy Marques stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to apologize to my fans for what they witnessed here tonight. I am A LOT better than what you all seen here, trust me, the next time I step inside this octagon, you will witness something you've never seen before. MARK MY WORDS!'.
