Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Khan (ranked 1788 p4p, 199 weight class) and Sylvain Lievremont (ranked 2501 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Frankie Khan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sylvain Lievremont! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lievremont circles away. Lievremont has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Khan is landing a low percentage of strikes. Lievremont shoots in and drives through. Khan sprawls well. No luck for Lievremont with that takedown attempt. Khan throws a poor cross that misses
and Lievremont counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Khan! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khan is looking to reverse the position. Khan looks to move to half guard but instead Lievremont has passed into mount! Damn! Lievremont tries to control but Khan wriggling away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khan regains half guard. Khan trying to get back to full guard but Lievremont takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Lievremont trying to control but he's not successful this time. We've been hearing good reports from Khan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lievremont trying to control but Khan is having none of it. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lievremont is trying to control here but Khan has managed to regain half guard.
Lievremont is looking to advance position but Khan won't allow it. Khan actively working from the bottom here. Lievremont is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Khan sees it coming and defends easily. Khan wants to improve his position but Lievremont is controlling well.

Lievremont controlling the pace. Lievremont is working for an americana but Khan has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Lievremont was thinking about the submission. Lievremont drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Khan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lievremont has Khan in his guard.
Khan has gone for a leg lock! Lievremont slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khan's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khan controls Lievremont momentarily but Lievremont frees himself. Lievremont drops back, looking for a kneebar! Khan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Khan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Khan! Lievremont is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Khan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lievremont is looking to improve his position.

Nice defenses there by Lievremont. Lievremont drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Khan defends it well. Lievremont gets a takedown into half guard. Khan tries to roll over but Lievremont keeps him under control. Lievremont is trying to control the action in half guard but Khan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lievremont looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lievremont can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Khan is looking to escape. Lievremont fails to advance to Khan's back. Lievremont is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Khan is in real trouble.
Lievremont has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lievremont is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Khan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Well, with Lievremont on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Khan is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Lievremont keeps control of the position as Khan tries to break free.

Lievremont has got one arm under Khan's chin. This could be trouble... Khan trying to control the other hand but Lievremont gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Khan has tapped out! The fight is over!
