The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Banks misses
and Shibaev counters with a shoot takedown. Banks fights it but they end up in guard.
Shibaev passes into half guard.
Shibaev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Shibaev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shibaev stops Banks from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shibaev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Banks's head.
Banks is trying to stand back up but Shibaev is controlling him
Shibaev is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Banks sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shibaev in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banks tries to get to full guard but Shibaev has control of the leg.
Shibaev thows a huge punch but Banks dodges it nicely.
Shibaev moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Banks.
Shibaev misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Banks tries to escape back to his feet but Shibaev has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Banks's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Banks is tapping! Shibaev saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
