Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kisada Hida (ranked 1523 p4p, 82 weight class) and Leo Kovarov (ranked 1814 p4p, 90 weight class). Hida comes to the cage accompanied by Noisestorm - Crab Rave. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisada Hida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Leo Kovarov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kovarov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hida was well out of range. Poor timing from Kovarov.
Kovarov misses with a body shot.
Hida scores with a jab to the body.

Kovarov scores with a body shot.
Kovarov lands with a shot to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hida enables Kovarov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hida manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kovarov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kovarov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hida looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kovarov is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kovarov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hida on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hida tries to get out of the position.

We've been told by Hida's head coaches at Rokugan that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kovarov tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hida is able to avoid easily.

Kovarov darts in looking for a takedown but Hida gets double underhooks and turns Kovarov into the cage.

Kovarov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kovarov lands a glancing blow to the side of Hida's head.
Kovarov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Kovarov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kisada Hida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Kovarov.

Kovarov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
No joy there for Kovarov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kisada Hida.
Well Kovarov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
