Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Masteri (ranked 3169 p4p, 123 weight class) and Yhorm Cinder (ranked 2807 p4p, 111 weight class). Max Masteri could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yhorm Cinder's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Masteri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yhorm Cinder!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cinder misses with a series of wild punches.
Max Masteri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Masteri.

Cinder shoots in and bounces Masteri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Masteri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cinder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Masteri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cinder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cinder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cinder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Cinder might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Masteri haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
It looks like Cinder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cinder connects with a nice short shot to Masteri's temple.

Cinder shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Masteri pinned against the cage. Masteri gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Masteri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cinder sprawls well. Cinder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Masteri gets slowly back to his feet.

Yhorm Cinder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Cinder has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
