3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roderick Cruickshank ! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kizota dives in for a single leg takedown but Cruickshank sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cruickshank misses with a two punch combination.
Kizota stuffs the takedown attempt from Cruickshank . Cruickshank gets slowly back to his feet. Kizota tries to counter with a takedown but Cruickshank is quick to defend against it. Kizota drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Cruickshank manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Cruickshank breaks the clinch.
Cruickshank defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kizota. Cruickshank tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kizota swivels and escapes. Kizota shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruickshank as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Mwamba Kizota. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. No luck for Kizota with that takedown attempt. Cruickshank is looking to clinch but Kizota is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cruickshank closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kizota circles away. Kizota shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruickshank as he avoids it easily. Kizota misses with a takedown attempt enabling Cruickshank to counter with a crisp jab. Kizota keeps the fight on the outside. Kizota shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cruickshank is trying to defend but Kizota finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kizota is breathing heavily. Kizota prevents Cruickshank from standing back up.

Cruickshank is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cruickshank trying to control the position.

Cruickshank is rocked! Kizota distracts Cruickshank with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cruickshank is still in real trouble! Can Kizota finish him? Kizota loads up on a big left hand. Cruickshank felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Kizota looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Cruickshank can't hide his disappointment, as Kizota celebrates the victory.
