Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iain Reilly (ranked 2387 p4p, 288 weight class) and Trenton Funkhouser (ranked 3394 p4p, 384 weight class). Reilly comes to the cage accompanied by Dubliners - Fields of Athenry. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iain Reilly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trenton Funkhouser! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funkhouser connects with a nice looking jab.
Reilly keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Reilly throws a body punch but Funkhouser moves out of range. Reilly slips a straight right by Funkhouser. Funkhouser ducks right into an uppercut from Reilly. Reilly swings for the body but Funkhouser moves out of range.
Reilly misses with a shot to the body enabling Funkhouser to counter with a crisp jab. Reilly moves forwards but Funkhouser connects with a nice, crisp jab. Funkhouser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reilly swivels and escapes. Reilly appears to be looking for a big counter. Reilly with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Funkhouser to score with a decent uppercut. Reilly takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reilly just misses with a punch to the body.
Funkhouser fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Reilly throws a lazy uppercut
and Funkhouser counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Reilly lands with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Funkhouser scores with the left hand. Reilly knows he should have avoided that one. Funkhouser steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Reilly. Reilly throws a right and a left that Funkhouser avoids nicely. Reilly staying out of range there. Funkhouser with a nice cross. Funkhouser scores with the left hand. Reilly knows he should have avoided that one. Funkhouser slips a jab from Reilly. Reilly scores with a jab. Funkhouser takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A big right from Reilly misses. Trenton Funkhouser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Funkhouser moves out of range of the strikes. Funkhouser is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Reilly had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Funkhouser looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reilly manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Funkhouser manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reilly with a flurry of punches that miss. Reilly postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Reilly postures up and lands a big shot to Funkhouser's brow. Reilly is looking to work some ground and pound but Funkhouser has wrist control. Reilly lands a couple of decent looking shots. Reilly trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reilly trying to control the position from guard on top but Funkhouser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reilly lands a couple of decent looking shots. Funkhouser is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reilly throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Funkhouser is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Reilly forces his way into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reilly connects with a nice short shot to Funkhouser's temple. Reilly throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Reilly throws a strike but Funkhouser avoids it easily and moves to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reilly scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Reilly is in close to Funkhouser's body, working some short punches and elbows. Reilly lands a couple of decent looking shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Funkhouser preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Reilly postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Funkhouser keeping moving, preventing Reilly from controlling successfully. Reilly is looking to work some ground and pound but Funkhouser has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reilly lands a couple of elbows. Reilly postures up in Funkhouser's guard and throws a big left but Funkhouser blocks it. Reilly is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Reilly missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Funkhouser is looking for a triangle but Reilly pushes his legs off easily.
Reilly wants to pass the guard but Funkhouser is keeping the position. Reilly wants to control from the top but Funkhouser keeps moving. Reilly pushes down on Funkhouser's leg and manages to get into half guard. Funkhouser looking for submissions from an awkward position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Iain Reilly dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Reilly scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Funkhouser might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nice straight punches there by Funkhouser. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Funkhouser. Funkhouser shoots in but no luck this time. Reilly misses with an uppercut. Funkhouser saw that one coming. Reilly thows a left - swing and a miss! Funkhouser tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Sloppy strikes from Reilly. Those never looked like landing. Funkhouser lands with a straight right. Reilly didn't see that one coming. Reilly throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Funkhouser steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Reilly. Funkhouser tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reilly was well out of range. Poor timing from Funkhouser. Reilly falls off balance throwing a combination
and Funkhouser counters with a stiff right hand. Reilly swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Funkhouser.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reilly walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nice straight punches there by Reilly. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Reilly. A jab from Funkhouser finds it's way through Reilly's defenses. A lazy left from Funkhouser finds it's target. Trenton Funkhouser seems to be getting the better of the standup. Funkhouser uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reilly.
Funkhouser drives through with a takedown into Reilly's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Reilly wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Funkhouser is now in half guard. Funkhouser seems to be looking for submissions.
Reilly is trying to maintain the position but Funkhouser is very close to passing his half guard. Reilly tries to get to full guard but Funkhouser has control of the leg. Reilly trying to hold on to Funkhouser's head to control him but Funkhouser postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reilly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Reilly. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Funkhouser stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reilly swivels though and keeps the full guard. Reilly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Reilly wants to sweep here but Funkhouser controlling him for the moment. Funkhouser drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Reilly dives on top into guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reilly's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Iain Reilly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reilly trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reilly throwing strikes from guard but Funkhouser blocks nicely. Funkhouser is looking for a triangle but Reilly pushes his legs off easily.
Reilly throws an elbow that misses. Funkhouser uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reilly's guard. Nice move by Funkhouser!
Reilly is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Funkhouser defends well. Reilly has an active guard here but Funkhouser has managed to pass into half guard.

Funkhouser not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reilly keeping moving, preventing Funkhouser from controlling successfully. Funkhouser passes Reilly's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Reilly holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Reilly is looking for a sweep. Funkhouser is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Funkhouser is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Funkhouser is working for a kimura but Reilly is defending it quite comfortably.
Funkhouser seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reilly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Reilly regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trenton Funkhouser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Funkhouser takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Funkhouser misses with a straight right. Reilly scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. The crowd cheers as Reilly lands an impressive looking overhand right. Funkhouser doesn't seem phased though. A jab from Funkhouser finds it's way through Reilly's defenses. Reilly takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Reilly takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Reilly misses the shot to the body. Reilly misses with a straight left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Funkhouser throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Reilly sees it coming and avoids it easily. Funkhouser scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Reilly doesn't seem bothered though. Funkhouser staying out of range there. Reilly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Funkhouser moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Funkhouser is defended easily by Reilly. Funkhouser connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Reilly throws a looping overhand right but Funkhouser ducks down to avoid it. Reilly stuffs the takedown attempt from Funkhouser. Funkhouser gets slowly back to his feet. Reilly misses with a straight left. Funkhouser shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Reilly counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Iain Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trenton Funkhouser. Funkhouser takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reilly misses with a series of wild punches.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Funkhouser! But no joy. Funkhouser staying out of range there. Funkhouser connects with a right hand. Reilly shakes it off. The fighters circling - Funkhouser throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Reilly with a nice cross. Reilly misses with a body shot.

Iain Reilly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A swing and a miss from Funkhouser. Funkhouser lands with a nice body punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Funkhouser scores with a punch to the head. Funkhouser throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Funkhouser fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Reilly on the side of the head. Funkhouser throws a big shot that misses. Reilly throws a body shot but no joy. Funkhouser works Reilly's body with a nice hook. Reilly waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Funkhouser. Funkhouser drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Reilly defends it well. Reilly swings for the body but Funkhouser moves out of range.
A left lands for Funkhouser. Funkhouser's jab looks to have found its range, popping Reilly under the eye. Funkhouser shoots in and bounces Reilly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Funkhouser pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reilly wants to sweep here but Funkhouser controlling him for the moment. Reilly is working hard here to advance position. Reilly can't keep his opponent in guard - Funkhouser advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Funkhouser looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Reilly works his way to full guard. Good work.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Trenton Funkhouser. I think Funkhouser has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Trenton Funkhouser! A less than humble Trenton Funkhouser misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
