Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taran Chula (ranked 241 p4p, 31 weight class) and Hans Hermann Hoppe (ranked 289 p4p, 37 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hoppe's choice of entrance music: Wind of Change. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Taran Chula! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Hermann Hoppe! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chula keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Chula pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chula displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hoppe. Chula is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Chula showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hoppe.
Hoppe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Chula counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hoppe thinking. Hoppe has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hoppe avoids the body shot from Chula.
Chula lands a right hook to the body.
Hoppe tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chula defends well and Hoppe ends up having to push Chula into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Taran Chula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Hermann Hoppe. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoppe throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Chula stuffs the takedown attempt from Hoppe. Hoppe gets slowly back to his feet. Hoppe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Chula swings for the body but Hoppe moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circling - Hoppe throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hoppe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chula slips a jab from Hoppe. Hoppe drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chula is trying to get back to half guard. Hoppe throws an elbow but Chula slips to the side and avoids it well. Hoppe working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hoppe working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoppe landing a few strikes. Chula defending against the ground and pound. Hoppe throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hoppe scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Chula to see if he's OK. Chula is not content to let Hoppe control the position. Hoppe creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Chula sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Chula is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ice Cream Parlour, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Hoppe tries to score with some ground and pound. Chula controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Hoppe scores with punches from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoppe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chula some visible discomfort.
Hoppe works to advance to full mount. Chula defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Hoppe unloads with some shots from mount but Chula bucks and avoids them well.
Chula has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Hoppe's lack of action.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoppe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hoppe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hoppe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hoppe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hoppe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hoppe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hoppe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoppe missing with a left hand there. Chula was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hoppe fails with the takedown. Chula went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Chula takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hans Hermann Hoppe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoppe shoots in and drives through. Chula sprawls well. Hoppe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Chula counters with a stiff right hand. Chula slips a jab from Hoppe. Hoppe has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hoppe lands with a nice body punch. Hoppe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Taran Chula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Hermann Hoppe. Chula slaps away a takedown attempt from Hoppe, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hoppe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chula swivels and escapes. Taran Chula is winning the standup battle so far. Chula looks to score with a jab to the body but Hoppe is just out of range. Hoppe tries to counter with a clinch but Chula shakes him off and moves away. Hoppe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chula did well to prevent Hoppe getting side control. Chula keeping control of the position. Hoppe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hoppe thows a huge punch but Chula dodges it nicely.
Chula tries to get to full guard but Hoppe has control of the leg. Hans Hermann Hoppe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hoppe is thwarting Chula's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoppe tries to pass to full mount but Chula defends it. Chula regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hoppe. Hoppe trying to control but Chula is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Chula knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hoppe on the ground. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hoppe scores with a takedown into Chula's guard. Hoppe is working Chula over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Chula utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hoppe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chula is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hans Hermann Hoppe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Chula gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hoppe lands a big elbow. Chula blocking the ground and pound. Hoppe postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chula looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoppe swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
