Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Thomas (ranked 22879 p4p, 517 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 22476 p4p, 540 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace !
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace stuffs the takedown.
Wallace lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Wallace fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.
Wallace lands with a right hand.
Wallace shoots in but no luck this time.
Thomas feinted with a counter takedown.

Thomas has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wallace is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Will Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace .
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wallace .
Thomas is looking to break free of the clinch but Wallace has double underhooks.

Thomas tries to stand but Wallace is controlling from the bottom.

Wallace has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Thomas has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Wallace should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thomas is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Thomas scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
Thomas tries for a takedown but Wallace circles away easily
and Wallace counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Thomas thinking.

and Thomas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Wallace wants to clinch.
As Wallace backs away, Thomas returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Thomas looks to land a right hand but Wallace moved out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thomas sprawls well. Thomas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet.

Thomas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Thomas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thomas shoots in but Wallace avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wallace lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Wallace misses with a takedown

and Thomas counters by moving into the clinch.
Thomas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wallace avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Wallace pulls guard effortlessly.
Thomas wants to pass the guard but Wallace is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Thomas slips nicely into half guard.
Thomas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wallace is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but William Wallace will probably get the nod.

Wallace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wallace off to one side.
Wallace leaves Thomas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallace sprawls well. Wallace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet.
Wallace unleashes a big counter combination but Thomas bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Horrible takedown attempt by Wallace or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas, which made it look bad.
Thomas throws a left and a right that both miss

and Wallace holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace blocks a body shot from Thomas.
Wallace lands a nice knee to the body.
Thomas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wallace pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Wallace pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas shoots for a double leg takedown but Wallace sprawls well. He's pushed Thomas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wallace steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Thomas.

Thomas is trying to pull guard but Wallace turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Wallace breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Will Thomas is winning the standup battle so far.

Thomas has managed to clinch.
Thomas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wallace prevents it.

Wallace ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wallace no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Thomas trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom.

Thomas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.
Thomas wants to stand and escape but instead Wallace has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Thomas wants to get back to his feet but Wallace passes into half guard.
Wallace thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Thomas looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Wallace is controlling the pace.
Thomas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though.
Wallace is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wallace not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wallace is taking a breather. Thomas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Thomas is looking to get back to full guard here but Wallace has managed to pass to side control instead.
Thomas can't do much from the bottom here.
Thomas tries to improve position but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Thomas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Thomas tries to buck Wallace off but Wallace is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wallace looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomas is fending him off so far but Wallace persists. Nope, Thomas circles away and we're back to standing.
Wallace tries to clinch up.
As Wallace tries to get set, Thomas tries to push him back and clinch up but Wallace manages to avoid the attempt.
Thomas throws a sloppy head kick

and Wallace moves into the clinch.
Thomas fails to pull guard.
Thomas wants to take the fight to the mat but Wallace manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Wallace jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Thomas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wallace was well out of range. Poor timing from Thomas.
Thomas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Wallace moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thomas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

No luck for Wallace with that takedown attempt.
Will Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Thomas throws a head kick but Wallace moves out of range.
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wallace replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Thomas blocks it well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Thomas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Wallace lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thomas but Thomas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Thomas closes the distance looking to clinch
and Wallace counters with a nice kick to the body.

Wallace scores with a takedown into Thomas's guard.
Wallace pushes down on Thomas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thomas is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wallace not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Thomas wants to control but Wallace is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Wallace is working for a kimura but Thomas is defending it quite comfortably.
Wallace takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Thomas is looking to improve his position.
Thomas throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Wallace has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Thomas wants to control but Wallace is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Thomas shoots for a takedown but Wallace saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thomas has Wallace up against the cage in a clinch.
Thomas is trying to force a seperation but Wallace has the dominant position.
Wallace controlling the action here for a moment.
Thomas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wallace smiles and moves away.

Wallace drives through and clinches with Thomas against the cage.
Will Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
William Wallace is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thomas has Wallace pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wallace manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
William Wallace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wallace has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
