PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Altair Brain (ranked 2223 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saifulla Rakhmonov (ranked 4065 p4p, 0 weight class). Brain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 300 Violin. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

With a record of 6 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saifulla Rakhmonov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brain keeps the fight on the outside.
A cross from Brain lands.
A left and a right from Brain both land. Nice combination.
Brain lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brain.
Rakhmonov shoots in looking for a takedown. Brain tries to sprawl out of it but Rakhmonov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brain has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Meathead Garage in the buildup to the fight.
Rakhmonov dives in and grabs Brain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brain pushes down on Rakhmonov's head and hops out.
Brain moves out of range as Rakhmonov strikes.
Brain lands a lovely overhand right.
Rakhmonov shoots in for a double leg but Brain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Altair Brain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saifulla Rakhmonov.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rakhmonov swings widly with a right hand
and Brain counters with a good low kick that Rakhmonov was not able to check.
Altair Brain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brain lands with a cross.
Rakhmonov darts in trying to clinch
letting Brain counter with a right hand.

Rakhmonov is rocked!
Brain sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Rakhmonov's defenses. It connects perfectly with Rakhmonov's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
