Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rich Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pearson's choice of entrance music: Overtime. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pearson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Pearson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pearson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pearson works his way to full guard. Good work. Pearson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Griffin controlling from the guard. Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pearson on the ground. Griffin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Griffin is looking to stand up but Pearson won't let him. Pearson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pearson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Griffin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pearson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Griffin's back instead. Griffin tries to roll but Pearson sticks to his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pearson gets his way!
