Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heavy Rain (ranked 95 p4p, 11 weight class) and Monte Zuma (ranked 227 p4p, 32 weight class). Rain comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Monte Zuma enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Monte Zuma!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Zuma's head backwards.
Zuma takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rain scores with a leg kick.
Rain throws a right hand that misses
and Zuma makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Rain really felt that one!
A jab from Rain finds it's way through Zuma's defenses.


It looks like Monte Zuma has been cut.
Zuma lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rain takes a step back to recover.
Zuma just misses with a punch to the body.

Zuma shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rain is trying to defend but Zuma finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rain looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

It looked like Rain was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Rain's jab looks to have found its range, popping Zuma under the eye.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rain is looking for a sweep. Zuma is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Zuma is keen to just control but Rain is a slippery customer.

Zuma wants to advance to full mount but Rain doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Zuma wants to take a breather but Rain manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Zuma.

Zuma keeps trying to improve his position.
Rain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rain can't keep his opponent in guard - Zuma advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Zuma works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Rain wants to control but Zuma is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Zuma is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rain sees it coming and defends easily.

Zuma is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rain to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rain shrugs it off.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rain throws a hook but Zuma avoids it easily.

Zuma seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Rain shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Zuma is backing up but Rain catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Zuma covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Rain Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Heavy Rain!
After the fight, Heavy Rain was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
