PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kamerun Diaz (ranked 410 p4p, 60 weight class) and Pete Granger (ranked 111 p4p, 20 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Beast in Black - Ghost in the Rain. Granger has chosen Get Ya Strut On - Lord Have Mercy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Granger!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granger throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Granger enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Granger manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Diaz stands and throws Granger's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Diaz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Diaz dives in for a single leg takedown but Granger sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kamerun Diaz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
