Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Franky Yip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Brit!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brit lands a nice looking kick to the body. Yip takes a step back to recover.
Brit walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yip.
Yip bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yip is looking to counter punch.
Brit misses with a head kick.
Brit misses with a right hand
and Yip counters with a stiff right hand.
Brit throws a body shot but no joy.
Brit keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yip fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yip is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brit loads up on a big right hand but Yip slips the punch.

Brit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Yip counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Yip closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brit tries to circle away but Yip has him pinned against the cage.
Brit is trying to push Yip away but Yip has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Brit wants to break the clinch but can't.
Yip tries for a takedown but Brit manages to get underhooks.

Yip wants the takedown. Brit is fighting it off but Yip persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Brit's guard against the cage.

Yip is looking to take a break and control but Brit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Yip has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Franky Yip overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Yip is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Brit had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yip defends it easily.

Brit has his foot on Yip's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yip works his way back into a safe position though.

Yip seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brit does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Yip tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brit paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Brit! But no joy.

Brit throws a right hand that Yip ducks under and follows up with a left that Yip also avoids with ease.

It looked like Yip was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brit.
Jimmy Brit has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Brit tries to move into range but Yip moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Yip swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Yip lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Brit or not.
Brit takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A frustrated look appears on Brit's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franky Yip. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Franky Yip showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yip, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Franky Yip started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Jimmy Brit spoke after the fight, saying 'Bahbahbooee bahbahbooee! Howard Sterns P... "mic yanked away"'.
