Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Furnum Pullum (ranked 654 p4p, 28 weight class) and Ispa Murhapuro (ranked 1293 p4p, 68 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Furnum Pullum!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ispa Murhapuro!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pullum needs to keep his hands up - Murhapuro had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Furnum Pullum has been cut.
Pullum closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murhapuro circles away.
Pullum fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Murhapuro avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pullum or perhaps it was just good defense by Murhapuro, which made it look bad.
Murhapuro swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Murhapuro is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pullum.

Pullum feints and as Murhapuro raises his hands in defense, Pullum changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pullum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Murhapuro seems keen to control Pullum's posture.

Pullum postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Murhapuro is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pullum, into his guard.

Pullum controls Murhapuro momentarily but Murhapuro frees himself.

Pullum has his foot on Murhapuro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murhapuro works his way back into a safe position though.

Pullum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murhapuro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murhapuro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

My spies in Gymi inform me that Murhapuro has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A lull in the action here as Murhapuro stalls from top position.
Pullum is trying to improve his position.
We've been hearing good reports from Pullum's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Pullum is trying to control Murhapuro's posture but Murhapuro avoids it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pullum tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Murhapuro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Murhapuro throws a hook to the side of Pullum's head but Pullum sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Pullum fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pullum uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Murhapuro.

Murhapuro looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Murhapuro looks to throw the jab but Pullum is out of range.

Pullum shoots in and bounces Murhapuro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pullum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murhapuro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murhapuro can do anything to dispel that myth.
Murhapuro has control of Pullum's left arm, preventing Pullum from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pullum is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Murhapuro fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pullum on the side of the head.
Murhapuro leaves Pullum with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ispa Murhapuro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pullum misses with a takedown attempt
letting Murhapuro counter with a right hand.
Pullum on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Pullum closes the distance and clinches up with Murhapuro, looking for a takedown. Pullum pushes Murhapuro against the cage but Murhapuro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Murhapuro might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Murhapuro moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Pullum goes down! Can Murhapuro finish him!?
Pullum is looking to sweep but instead, Murhapuro has passed into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murhapuro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pullum has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Murhapuro is working away from the top position though.
Murhapuro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Pullum is looking for a triangle but Murhapuro pushes his legs off easily.
Murhapuro is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Murhapuro punishes Pullum's body with a nice straight punch.

Pullum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Murhapuro on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Pullum shoots in but no luck this time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Murhapuro! But no joy.

Murhapuro cracks Pullum with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Furnum Pullum's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Ispa Murhapuro seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Murhapuro throws a jab but it's blocked by Pullum.
An attempted straight right counter from Pullum misses the target.

Murhapuro stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Murhapuro circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murhapuro lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Pullum walks into a left hand.
Pullum tries to clinch up but Murhapuro circles away and keeps his distance.
Pullum dives in and grabs Murhapuro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Murhapuro pushes down on Pullum's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Furnum Pullum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Murhapuro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Murhapuro's corner calls for a 1-2. Murhapuro obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Pullum tries to close the distance and clinch but Murhapuro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Murhapuro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pullum fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pullum throws an overhand right that lands on Murhapuro's shoulder, as Murhapuro tries to avoid the shot.
It seemed like Murhapuro was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Pullum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murhapuro tries to avoid it but Pullum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murhapuro to the ground. Murhapuro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pullum shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Murhapuro counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Murhapuro lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Jeez, Furnum Pullum's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Murhapuro waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Pullum. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Pullum to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Pullum is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Furnum Pullum's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ispa Murhapuro!
