Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Audell Tillman (ranked 5468 p4p, 460 weight class) and Ray Wells (ranked 24662 p4p, 532 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Audell Tillman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Wells!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Tillman misses.

Tillman rushes Wells and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tillman is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Tillman just leaning against Wells, taking a breather.
Wells pushes Tillman back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Tillman gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Tillman slows the pace down in half guard.

Tillman stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tillman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wells pushes Tillman off looking to stand but Tillman dives back in and keeps control.
Wells is staying active underneath Tillman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Well, if Tillman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wells shoots in for a double leg but Tillman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wells throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tillman's waist but Tillman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wells off to one side.
We've been informed that Wells has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Wells shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Audell Tillman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Wells.

Tillman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tillman stands up and beckons Wells to join him on the feet.
Wells looks winded!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wells is trying to break the clinch but Tillman is controlling him.
Wells is trying to push Tillman away but Tillman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Tillman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tillman manages to end up in side control.
Wells tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Tillman prevents Wells from getting the reversal.
Tillman with shots to the head and body - Wells looks very uncomfortable down there.

Wells wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tillman.
Wells is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wells prevents Tillman from taking his back.
BOOM! Tillman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tillman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tillman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tillman landing punches.
You get the feeling that Wells really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Wells misses with a takedown attempt

and Tillman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Tillman gets control of Wells's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tillman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Wells got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tillman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wells has managed to get both his arms back between Tillman's legs - danger averted.
Tillman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wells has gone for a leg lock! Tillman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wells's guard.

Tillman stands up from Wells's guard - Tillman perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wells shoots in for a takedown but Tillman shows good takedown defense.
Wells tries to clinch but Tillman moves out of range.
Tillman wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Wells throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tillman's waist but Tillman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wells off to one side.

Wells scores with the left hand. Tillman knows he should have avoided that one.
Wells is breathing heavily.

Tillman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wells!
Wells is looking to get back to his feet here but Tillman is keeping cool and he's managed to take Wells's back.

Tillman lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Wells hold on?!

Tillman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wells can do to turn this around?
Wells takes a big shot to the side of the head.

Tillman working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Wells turns into Tillman and is now in his guard.
Tillman controls Wells momentarily but Wells frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tillman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tillman keeping moving, preventing Wells from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Tillman instigates a clinch.

Wells will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tillman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Tillman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wells's guard.

Tillman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Tillman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Tillman stays in close to Wells's body and controls the position.
Audell Tillman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tillman stands up over Wells, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Tillman lands a couple of elbows.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tillman gets to his feet - Wells follows without any prompting.
Wells fails with a takedown attempt.
Wells is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.
Wells takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tillman throws a lazy uppercut
and Wells counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tillman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Tillman moves into range and clinches up with Wells.

Tillman wants to control but Wells is keeping him busy.

Tillman decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Tillman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wells tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tillman is in Wells's guard.

Wells is refusing to be controlled, as Tillman sits in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Audell Tillman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tillman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
