The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hajjar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Palhares is one step ahead there.
Palhares thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hajjar keeping moving, preventing Palhares from controlling successfully.
Hajjar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Palhares gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hajjar looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Palhares puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Hajjar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Palhares is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hajjar is just riding it out for now. Palhares eventually gives up the hold.
Hajjar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hajjar is trying to maintain the position but Palhares is very close to passing his half guard.
Palhares scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Palhares moves into full mount! Hajjar won't be happy about that!
Palhares working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hajjar turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Palhares off and cradles Hajjar's limp body as Palhares celebrates with his corner.
