Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ushat Belov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kosuke Ishimura! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belov throws a body shot but no joy. Ishimura feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Belov's calf. Ishimura lands a right hook to the body.
Ishimura throws a push kick but Belov slaps the foot to one side. Ishimura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fighters circle momentarily. Belov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Nice body kick there by Ishimura. Ishimura throws a push kick but Belov slaps the foot to one side. Belov takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Belov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Belov is breathing heavily. Belov walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ishimura. Ishimura fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Belov. Belov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ishimura moves out of range and avoids them all easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Belov tries to bum rush Ishimura with a series of wild strikes but Ishimura uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Belov moves out of range of the body kick from Ishimura.
Belov throwing a counter right hand but Ishimura manages to avoid it. Ishimura scores with a spinning back kick! Ishimura scores with a hook to the body. Belov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Ishimura swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ishimura lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ishimura wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ishimura lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Ishimura has closed the distance and engaged Belov in a clinch.
Ishimura breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Belov lands an overhand right. Ishimura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ishimura looks for the body kick but Belov saw that one coming. Kosuke Ishimura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice defenses there by Ishimura. Ishimura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Belov is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ishimura. Ishimura throws a quick inside leg kick. Belov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ishimura tries to close the distance and clinch but Belov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ishimura scores with a leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ishimura slips a straight right by Belov. Belov moves out of range of the body kick. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Belov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ishimura - the referee stops the clock and Belov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ishimura. Belov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crunch! Ishimura slams his shin into Belov's torso. Ishimura ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A solid body kick from Ishimura. Ishimura turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Ishimura looks to score with a jab to the body but Belov is just out of range. Ishimura misses with a head kick.
A shot to the body from Ishimura misses and Belov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Ishimura tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belov was well out of range. Poor timing from Ishimura. A decent looking body kick lands there for Ishimura. Ishimura is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Belov rather than just go for the knockout. Ishimura scores with a head kick. Belov tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Ishimura throws a sloppy head kick and Belov moves out of range easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Ishimura.
Ishimura throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Ishimura connects with a single shot there.
Belov is rocked! Belov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Oh Belov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ishimura circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Belov tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Ishimura wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kosuke Ishimura!
