The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruickshank has closed the distance and engaged Phouthong in a clinch.
Phouthong looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Cruickshank 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hakkamunoi Phouthong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruickshank gets tackled into the cage by Phouthong. Phouthong maintains the clinch.
Phouthong is trying to push Cruickshank away but Cruickshank has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cruickshank gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Phouthong regains guard.

Phouthong is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Cruickshank cracks Phouthong with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
