The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loel throws a series of punches but Peterson moves out of range. Loel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Loel. Those never looked like landing. Peterson throws a right hand that Loel ducks under and follows up with a left that Loel also avoids with ease. Peterson takes a swing at Loel's ribcage but misses. Loel scores with a nice right hand.
Peterson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Loel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A right-left combo lands from Loel. Greg Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peterson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson. Loel does a little dance to reset his feet. Peterson takes a swing at Loel's ribcage but misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Loel throws a series of punches but Peterson moves out of range. Loel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Peterson misses with a wild combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loel scores with a punch to the head. Peterson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Decent striking displayed by Loel there. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Loel, as that shot connected.
Peterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Loel manages to avoid it. Loel dodges the punch combination from Peterson.
Loel ducks under a wild hook from Peterson. Loel with a body punch. A glancing blow. Peterson misses with a wild body shot. Peterson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peterson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Loel defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson throws a nice looking combination but Loel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Peterson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Loel rather than just go for the knockout. A left and a right from Loel both land. Nice combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Loel scores with a jab to the head.
Peterson looks to score with a jab to the body but Loel is just out of range. Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Peterson takes a kick to the side of the head. Loel blocks a head kick by Peterson.
Loel throws a right hand that Peterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Peterson also avoids with ease. Peterson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Loel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Peterson is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Loel counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Peterson is still on wobbly legs! Can Loel finish him? Peterson walks straight into a right hand from Loel - that's dropped him! Loel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Peterson from any more punishment! Peterson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
