The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Smith misses.
Massive works the jab nicely.

Massive throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.

Massive lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Smith or not.

Smith's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Massive connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Smith scrambles back to his feet.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Massive, as that shot connected.

Smith has managed to clinch.
Massive lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Smith backwards.

Massive pushes Smith back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Smith looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Massive tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Massive to the ground. Massive escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Massive might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Horrible takedown attempt by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Massive, which made it look bad.
Smith needs to keep his hands up - Massive had a free shot at his head there.
