Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Dorsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Holt!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dorsey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Holt somewhat.

Dorsey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Holt has Dorsey pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dorsey is fighting to break Holt's control of his arms but Holt is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Holt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dorsey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Holt takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dorsey is controlling Holt's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Holt wants to take a breather but Dorsey is having none of it.

Holt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Holt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Holt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Holt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Holt manages to end up in side control.

Holt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well Holt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
