Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikel Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, William Christie! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles slips under a jab from Christie. Charles staying out of range there. Charles tried to counter with a leg kick but Christie avoided it. Charles clinches up with Christie and pushes him back against the cage. Christie is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Charles blocking some punches.
Christie is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Charles blocks an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christie throws a punch but it's blocked by Charles. Charles tries to pull guard but Christie won't allow it.
Charles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Charles gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christie tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Charles manages to pull guard.
Christie stopping the sweep attempt from Charles. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Christie looking to sit in guard and control but Charles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Charles throwing strikes but missing. Christie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Christie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Charles defends well. Christie working for a triangle but Charles defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Christie has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Charles is looking to defend but Christie has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Charles! Christie pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Charles taps out and this one is all over!
