The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nomo throws a hook but Robbins avoids it easily.
Robbins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Nomo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nomo dodges the punch combination from Robbins.

and Nomo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Robbins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nomo.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nomo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robbins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Robbins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nomo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Robbins has managed to get both his arms back between Nomo's legs - danger averted.

A determined Shintaro Nomo didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
