Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bjj Bjj! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Murphy! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bjj shoots for a double leg takedown but Murphy sprawls well. He's pushed Bjj's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Murphy lands with a shot to the body. Bjj misses with a combination
and Murphy counters with a nice double leg into guard. My spies in Cozad MMA Las Vegas inform me that Murphy has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Bjj will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Murphy looking to pass the guard. Murphy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Murphy has eaten all the pies! Murphy gets tackled into the cage by Bjj. Bjj maintains the clinch. Murphy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bjj's elbow. Bjj has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Murphy uses from the top position. Murphy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bjj dives on top into guard.

Bjj is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Murphy. Murphy is looking for a sweep. Murphy can't do much from the bottom here. Murphy tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bjj easily slips into full mount!

Murphy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Murphy is trying desperately to improve position. Murphy reaches up to try and control the position but Bjj seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Murphy rolls and tries to escape and now Bjj has his back!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Murphy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bjj avoids it really well and circles away. Bjj is defending well but Murphy drives through and ends up in Bjj's guard. Murphy wants to control from the top but Bjj keeps moving. They are putting on a show! Murphy is trying to control Bjj's posture but Bjj avoids it. Murphy looks to move to half guard but instead Bjj has passed into mount! Damn! Murphy tries to hold on but Bjj pushes him away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Murphy can't escape the position.
