The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fring closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Holt did well to prevent Fring getting side control.
Holt pushes Fring off and gets back to his feet.
Fring closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fring lands in his opponent's guard.

Holt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Holt stays in close to Fring's body and controls the position.
Fring wants to sweep but no luck.
Fring really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fring is trying to hold Holt in close to prevent damage but Holt has managed to pass into half guard.
Holt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Holt lands a nice short elbow.
Holt uses his free foot to push down on Fring's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fring.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fring wants to hold on but Holt pushes him away.

Fring is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Holt gets his way!
