Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jax Thomas (ranked 115 p4p, 16 weight class) and Chris Boag (ranked 197 p4p, 26 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Killing is my business, and business is good! - Megadeth. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Boag!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boag swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Boag, right into the meat.
Chris Boag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boag lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Boag throws a body shot but no joy.
Thomas throws a half hearted mid kick.
Boag throws a hook but Thomas blocks it.
It looked like Thomas was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Boag.
Boag works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Boag lands a glancing blow to the side of Thomas's head.
Boag throws a head kick that Thomas semi-blocks.
Boag misses with a body shot
and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.
Thomas shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Boag throws out a counter right but Thomas avoids it with no problem.
Boag chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thomas can pounce on him.
Thomas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boag pinned against the cage. Boag gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thomas is looking to counter the offense by Boag and move into the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Thomas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Boag creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Boag's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boag is looking to slow Thomas down with leg kicks.

Boag dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thomas. That did some damage!
Thomas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thomas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Boag, as that shot connected.
Good leg kick by Boag there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Thomas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Boag lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Thomas looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Chris Boag is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boag misses with a kick to the body
and Thomas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Boag breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boag ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Boag tries a low kick but Thomas avoids it.
Thomas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boag.

and Thomas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thomas needs to keep his hands up - Boag had a free shot at his head there.
Boag throws a lazy uppercut
and Thomas counters with a nice body kick.
Boag is looking to chop away at Thomas's legs.
Thomas is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boag blocks a head kick by Thomas.
Thomas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boag has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thomas dives in for a single leg takedown but Boag sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Boag will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Thomas has picked Boag up - he's going for a ride! Thomas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Thomas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boag with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Thomas is keen to just control but Boag is a slippery customer.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thomas lands a nice short elbow.
Boag is trying to stand.
Thomas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thomas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Thomas slips a nice elbow through Boag's hands, connecting with Boag's forehead.
Thomas missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Boag pushes Thomas off looking to stand but Thomas dives back in and keeps control.

Boag is in a horrible position here. Thomas smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Jax Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boag seems to have recovered his senses.
Boag is bucking up trying to escape but Thomas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Thomas is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Boag can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Boag is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Thomas lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Thomas pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Thomas postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Boag bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Thomas and the fight is over!

A relieved looking Jax Thomas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
