Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Beznisko (ranked 652 p4p, 91 weight class) and John Brophy (ranked 627 p4p, 89 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brophy's choice of entrance music: Last Caress - Metallica. John Brophy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

27 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, John Brophy! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beznisko moves forwards but Brophy connects with a nice, crisp jab. Beznisko seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Beznisko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brophy manages to avoid it. Brophy sizes up Beznisko with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Brophy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Nice body kick there by Beznisko. Beznisko moves out of range as Brophy throws a body kick.

Beznisko misses with a right hand and Brophy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A low kick from Beznisko misses and Brophy counters with a crisp right hand that drops Beznisko! Brophy lets Beznisko back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
It looks like Sergey Beznisko has been cut. John Brophy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brophy lands a leg kick that knocks Beznisko off balance momentarily. Beznisko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Brophy's guard. Brophy keeping moving, preventing Beznisko from controlling successfully. Beznisko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beznisko trying to control the position from guard on top but Brophy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beznisko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brophy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Beznisko is fighting to break Brophy's control of his arms but Brophy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Beznisko trying to control but Brophy is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beznisko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Beznisko moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Beznisko fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Brophy checks it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beznisko misses the shot to the body. Brophy appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Beznisko wants to land a leg kick but Brophy is out of range. Beznisko misses with a takedown attempt - Brophy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Beznisko takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Beznisko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Beznisko tries to bum rush Brophy with a series of wild strikes but Brophy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Beznisko lands a lovely overhand right. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Beznisko misses with a low kick. Beznisko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brophy was well out of range. Poor timing from Beznisko. And Brophy responds with a good body kick, but Beznisko manages to step out the way in time. Brophy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Brophy defending well as Beznisko loads up on a big left hand. Beznisko misses with an uppercut. Brophy saw that one coming. Beznisko tries to close the distance and clinch but Brophy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brophy throws out a counter right but Beznisko avoids it with no problem. Brophy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Beznisko walks into a straight right hand from Brophy. Brophy misses with a body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brophy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brophy drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Brophy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Beznisko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Beznisko works his way into side control. Beznisko fails to land a wild elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beznisko in side control, throwing shots but Brophy defends. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brophy is trying to control Beznisko's posture but Beznisko avoids it. Brophy is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beznisko working away. Beznisko trying to control the position but Brophy is working away. Beznisko working the ground and pound. Beznisko content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Beznisko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brophy takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Beznisko wants to control but Brophy is keeping him busy. A lull in the action here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Beznisko is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brophy's shoulder. That is not cool. Beznisko in side control, throwing shots but Brophy defends. Brophy regains half guard, as Beznisko was trying to land strikes. Beznisko not landing any meaningful shots this time. Beznisko lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Brophy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Brophy wants to control but Beznisko is keeping busy and won't allow it. Beznisko sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Brophy defending well though. Sergey Beznisko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brophy is staying active underneath Beznisko, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Beznisko is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beznisko winds up and cracks Brophy with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Beznisko working the head and body with strikes. Beznisko lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Beznisko throws a strike but Brophy avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brophy seems keen to control Beznisko's posture. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Beznisko's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beznisko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brophy's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Beznisko looks to score with a jab to the body but Brophy is just out of range. Brophy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Beznisko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brophy counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. A leg kick checked by Beznisko. Beznisko throws a body punch but Brophy moves out of range. And Brophy responds with a good body kick, but Beznisko manages to step out the way in time. Brophy throws a lazy right hand but Beznisko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Beznisko takes one to the chin there. Brophy tries to land a front kick but Beznisko steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Beznisko changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergey Beznisko. I think Beznisko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
