Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Shepherd (ranked 6335 p4p, 0 weight class) and Super Speed (ranked 4922 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie Shepherd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Super Speed! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Speed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shepherd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Speed trying to control the action but Shepherd is working from the bottom. Shepherd gets back to half guard. Speed trying to control from half guard but Shepherd is working away. Shepherd is pressing down on Speed's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd wriggles free and stands up. Speed decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Shepherd manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Speed is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Shepherd is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Speed drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shepherd looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shepherd looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shepherd! Shepherd remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Speed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Speed tries to bench press Shepherd off him but Shepherd keeps the position. Shepherd is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Speed's shoulder. That is not cool. Speed wants to get back to his feet. Shepherd grinds an elbow into Speed's temple. Shepherd controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shepherd connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Speed some visible discomfort.
Speed is being controlled here. Speed tries to improve position but can't. Speed is letting Shepherd control him for a moment. Speed struggling a bit here. Speed tries to escape but Shepherd is in control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Speed looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Speed gets caught napping as Shepherd dives in and scores a takedown. Speed manages to retain guard. Shepherd is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Shepherd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Shepherd engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Speed is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Shepherd drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Shepherd slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shepherd working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Speed wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Shepherd is now in half guard. Shepherd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Speed can do to turn this around? Speed quickly recovers to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shepherd lands a nice short elbow. Shepherd scoring with strikes to the body and head. Shepherd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shepherd is thwarting Speed's attempts to control the position. Shepherd seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Speed is trying to get back to full guard. Speed is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Shepherd seems content to control. Speed is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shepherd scores with a couple of nice shots. Shepherd stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Speed closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Shepherd throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Super Speed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shepherd has closed the distance and engaged Speed in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shepherd gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Speed wants to control but Shepherd is keeping busy.

Shepherd has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Speed is on him like a limpet, forcing Shepherd back against the cage. Shepherd is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Speed can't fight it off and eventually Shepherd manages to take the fight to the floor. Speed looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shepherd controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Shepherd stands up from guard. Let's bang! Shepherd shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shepherd was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Shepherd working the head and body with strikes. The referee asks Shepherd politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Shepherd prefers to stall for the moment though.

And that's the end of the fight! Freddie Shepherd showed his dominance in that final round. Well Shepherd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
