Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Paradaiser (ranked 4398 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horhe Campos (ranked 4914 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ronald Paradaiser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Horhe Campos! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campos ducks under a wild hook from Paradaiser. Campos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Paradaiser tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Campos is in Paradaiser's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Campos scoring with some ground and pound. Campos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Paradaiser is trying to control the position but Campos postures up. Campos trying to control the position from guard on top but Paradaiser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Campos is looking to work some ground and pound but Paradaiser has wrist control. Campos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Campos lands a couple of decent looking shots. Campos throws a big right hand that misses. Campos sitting and controlling from the half guard. Campos is keen to just control but Paradaiser is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Campos throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Campos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Campos is keen to just control but Paradaiser is a slippery customer. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Campos! Paradaiser takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Paradaiser throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Campos is trying to get an arm triangle but Paradaiser is defending well. Paradaiser wants to control but Campos postures up. Campos grinds an elbow into Paradaiser's temple. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You can see the frustration on Paradaiser's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Campos misses with an attempted head punch from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Horhe Campos dominated that round. That's time! Paradaiser's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Campos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Paradaiser is trying to control Campos's posture but Campos avoids it. Campos trying to control the action but Paradaiser is working from the bottom. Campos throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. An elbow from Campos crashes against the mat.
Paradaiser is not content to let Campos control the position. Paradaiser can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paradaiser tries to bench press Campos off him but Campos keeps the position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Campos in particular looking to stall. Campos lands with a punch from half guard. Paradaiser has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Campos is working away from the top position though. Campos seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Campos is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Campos not landing any meaningful shots this time. Paradaiser trying to control here.

Horhe Campos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Ooooh, that looks tight… Paradaiser is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Paradaiser and Campos has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Paradaiser takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Campos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sloppy strikes there by Campos. Campos working the strikes but Paradaiser uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Campos not landing any meaningful shots this time. Campos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paradaiser's head. Campos is thwarting Paradaiser's attempts to control the position. Ground and pound from Campos. Campos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Campos lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Campos scoring with strikes to the body and head.
And that's the end of the fight! Horhe Campos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Campos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
