The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark blocks a head kick by Sonjaya.

Clark is trying to pull guard but Sonjaya turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Sonjaya is pressed up against the cage. Clark has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sonjaya down to the mat. Sonjaya avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sonjaya stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Clark to get to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kareem Clark will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Clark tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sonjaya avoids it.

Clark is pushing Sonjaya up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sonjaya tries to pull guard but Clark won't allow it.
Clark is trying to maintain a safe position but Sonjaya gets an underhook and turns Clark into the cage.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Clark can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Clark leaves Sonjaya with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
