Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Key.

It looks like Kenny Key has been cut.

Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard.

Diaz closes the distance and clinches.

Diaz decides to pull guard.
Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Diaz wants to hit a switch here but Key passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Diaz there!

Diaz somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Diaz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Key tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Diaz is in Key's guard.

Diaz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Key uses it to pass to side control.

Key has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Diaz covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Diaz is trying to get back to his feet but Key has full control of the position and if anything, Diaz has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Diaz tries to roll but Key sticks to his back.
Key is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Key gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Key gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Key apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Key dives in for a single leg takedown but Diaz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Key bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
